HTC Debuts Desire 620 and 620G

HTC has confirmed the launch of the Desire 620, the company's latest budget/mid-range smartphone that features a 64-bit processor. We leaked the device earlier in the week, but there are actually two different variations of this same smartphone available, each one rocking a different processor.

Oppo Has a New Smartphone and a Black Friday Sale

Oppo has recently showed off its new smartphones, one of which is the thinnest mobile phone in the world, so far at least. The Chinese company is now back with another new device, the Oppo R8207, a handset that is currently passing through TENAA. There are now swivelling camera theatrics here though as this seems to be a more straightforward mid-range addition to the company?s portfolio.

Huawei Glory 6 Plus to have Dual Cameras

Huawei has another smartphone up its sleeve that will likely land next month, a little bit late to make the most of the Christmas shoppers, but time enough for late buyers. The device is apparently called the Huawei Glory 6 Plus, a high end addition to the company's range that will cost $537 and will launch on December 16th.

The battle between Apple's iOS and Google's Android shows no signs of stopping, and it is actually a war that I have said no side needs to win. The platforms and the company's go about things differently enough that both can be winners, as indeed both have been so far. Android is the platform with the market behind it, the weight of numbers giving it the most coverage in the consumer space. Apple on the other hand plays the percentages of having the most desirable products and services and monetizing them beyond even Google's levels.

Some recent all-in-one PCs (we're thinking the HP Slate 21) came with Android instead of Windows and the truth is Android is not robust enough as a full machine OS. Of course, some laptops come with both Windows and Android, but these hybrids have failed on other levels. If you have ever just wanted to have Android on your current machine, complete with the Google Play Store then you can.

Apple to Cut iPhone 5c in 2015

According to numerous reports today, Apple is set to discontinue the iPhone 5s in 2015, bringing its "affordable" iPhone to an end. Cupertino has already instructed its suppliers Foxconn and Wistron to tone down production and will stop selling the device in the middle of 2015.

HTC Readying Desire 620 64-bit Device

HTC apparently has another new smartphone in the works, a new Desire 820 that will fill the space between budget and mid-range for the company. According to Bulgarian website Nixanbal.com, the device is coming soon and they even managed to get their hands on one, revealing it to be typical HTC fare.

Android One Smartphone Lands in UK at Double the Price

Google's Android One project has yielded just three devices so far, and all have been exclusive to India. They have not been selling well with Indians reluctant to purchase the handsets online and major retailers unwilling to sell them. Despite these issues Android One remains a decent enough concept and now it has spread its wings with the first device to show up outside of India landing in the UK.
