Microsoft "very surprised" by Google ending support for Exchange ActiveSync, urges users to switch to Outlook

Google Maps for iOS sees more than 10 million downloads with 48 hours

Google Maps shot to the top of the iPhone App Store within hours of being released on Friday, and that rapid adoption led to millions of downloads in the hours that followed - more than 10 million to be exact. Google SVP of Commerce & Local Jeff Huber today announced that Google Maps for iOS achieved more than 10 million downloads within the first 48 hours of its release. The poorly-received Apple Map app that comes bundled with iOS 6 and early enthusiasm to replace it lead to an initial wave of downloads that has sustained Google Maps as the top free app in the App Store.

U.S. Cellular Samsung Galaxy S III to receive Android 4.1 Dec. 21

U.S. Cellular has announced that it will update the Samsung Galaxy S III beginning Friday, December 21. Galaxy S III owners will be able to visit a dedicated Android 4.1 Jelly Bean page to get all of the information they will need to download the Jelly Bean update. A number of performance enhancements and new features outlined here will be made available through an over-the-air update or the Samsung Kies desktop software.

Apple continued its run of strong iPhone 5 sales over the weekend when its latest smartphone went on sale in China. The company today announced that it sold more than two million smartphones in China, a record sales total for an opening weekend in that market. Apple released the iPhone 5 in more international markets last week, and it plans to make the device available in more than 100 countries by the end of the year.
