Adobe Flash Player for Android updated with Ice Cream Sandwich support

Posted: 15 Dec 2011 03:03 PM PST

The company had promised that the update would come before the end of the year, and what better time than on the same day as the launch of the Google Galaxy Nexus for Verizon Wireless. The change log for the update does not list any other new features, so it looks like this is strictly to get it working with Android 4.0. Adobe Flash Player is free and can be downloaded from the Android Market now.

During RIM's Q3 2012 investor call, co-CEO Mike Lazaridis revealed that the company does not expect to launch its first BlackBerry 10 smartphones until the latter part of 2012. Lazaridis says this is due to the processor that was selected for the devices, which won't be ready for production until mid-2012. No Swype keyboard on Android 4.0 ICS for now

Posted: 15 Dec 2011 12:05 PM PST

Swype has announced that due to the way Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich reports screen resolution, its tracing keyboard is not currently compatible with the new operating system. That means that new Google Galaxy Nexus owners will have to make do with the standard Ice Cream Sandwich virtual keyboard (which, to be honest, is very good), or another third-party option for now. Swype says that it is hard at work making its keyboard compatible with Ice Cream Sandwich, so we wouldn't expect users to have to wait too long for an updated version.
