Study says Samsung's brand perception beats iPhone thanks to new ads

A new study of brand perception among American adults claims that Samsung has edged out Apple and its iPhone in positive perception for the first time. The study points to Samsung's new advertising campaign that pokes at the iPhone's flaws and mocks Apple "fanboys" as the reason for the change of heart.

LG and high-fashion house Prada have had a long relationship that has produced a few interesting devices, and now they are continuing their partnership by introducing the new Prada Phone 3.0 by LG. The Prada Phone 3.0 sports a typical slate design, but LG has customized the interface to remove any trace of color.

Mobile Google+ apps to gain ability to create Hangouts soon

Google revealed some of its upcoming plans for the Google+ social network today,announcing that it will soon give the Google+ mobile apps for iOS and Android the ability to create hangout video chats on the go. Prior to this, users could join a video hangout chat with their phone, but they lacked the ability to create them.

Verizon's color of 4G LTE now covers 200 million Americans

Verizon Wireless has announced that with tomorrow's roll-out of new LTE markets, the carrier will cover 200 million Americans with 4G LTE service in 190 markets across the country. Verizon had set a goal of covering 185 million by the end of 2011, so this figure is well beyond its initial expectations.

Google has removed 22 apps from the Android Market because it was discovered that they were scamming users into paying premium SMS charges. The apps removed this time were posing as popular apps such as Angry Birds, and were discovered by security software provider Lookout.

White Motorola DROID RAZR hits Verizon tomorrow

The white version of the Motorola DROID RAZR that was announced last week will be available for purchase tomorrow, December 15. The white model is exactly the same as the black version as far as specs go, so it is still 7.1mm thick and powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. Buyers who prefer their phone to have a lighter pigment can expect to pay $299.99 on-contract for the white model when it becomes available online and in-stores tomorrow.

ITC drags feet on HTC, Apple patent ruling once again

The International Trade Commission has once again delayed its decision on the patent dispute between HTC and Apple. The decision was originally supposed to be announced on December 6, but it was pushed back to today, December 14. Now, the companies can look towards next Monday, December 19 for a decision on the matter. It was not revealed why the ITC delayed its plans for a second time. If the ITC decides in Apple's favor, it could result in a ban on the sale of HTC's smartphones and tablets in the U.S.
