Instagram starts auto-deleting photos uploaded by Windows Phone client Instance

The lack of an official Instagram Windows Phone app has been in a thorn in the side of many Nokia Lumia fans, but third-party app Instance has attempted to fill in that gap by using a workaround to upload photos to Instagram. Those photos are now being deleted without prejudice.

Sprint 4G LTE launches in Philadelphia, Portland, Oakland, and 38 other cities

The Sprint 4G LTE network fell behind the deployment schedule that the carrier originally hoped to see, but the Now Network is today launching in dozens of cities and towns. Sprint is today launching in 41 new markets throughout the country, raising its total number of markets to 151.

Zagat for iOS launches with new guide and restaurant recommendations

Google has released a new version of its Zagat iPhone app to offer restaurant and entertainment reviews for venues in select cities. Announcing previously that Google+ Local will shut down next month, Zagat is the new default app for iOS users looking to discover places to dine and drink. The app is similar to the Android version launched in October, which supports descriptions for a limited amount of cities in North America, Europe, and Asia. Google Shopper Android and iOS apps join the graveyard of shutdown Google products

Google tends to shutdown a handful of products each year. Though it will not add Google Shopping to the list of decommissioned products, the company will cease supporting its Android and iOS price comparison tool, Google Shopper. VP of Google Shopping Sameer Samat has announced that the mobile apps for Shopper will be shutdown August 30. Rather than have standalone price comparison apps, the same information will appear online or within the Google Search apps for iOS and Android. Reviews, product photos, details, and more will be shifted to Google Search.

T-Mobile smartphones available with $0 down for limited time

T-Mobile today announced a limited time offer to sell all smartphones on its network with no down payment. The nation's fourth-place carrier still requires that customers pay monthly installments to cover the cost of their devices, but consumers who wish to avoid the $99 down payments now have the option to increase their monthly costs rather than pay up-front cash. Depending on the device, not making a down payment leads to $5 to $27 per month on top of monthly service costs for talk, text, and data. The promotion begins July 27 and will run for a limited time.
