Google buys Waze, says it will "outsmart traffic" with new data

Google has confirmed rumors that it purchased the company behind map and navigation app Waze. Though Google didn't disclose financial terms, the two companies appear optimistic that joining forces will lead to better Google Maps and an improved version of Waze.

Sprint amends deal with SoftBank, ends talks with DISH

SoftBank downplayed the need to increase its bid to acquire a 70 percent stake in Sprint for $20.1 billion, but as Sprint prepared to hold a vote on the proposal, SoftBank decided to sweeten the deal by raising its offer by several hundred million. In response, Sprint has ended talks with DISH.
