AT&T isn't crazy, but media companies subsidizing data costs is still a terrible idea Posted: 10 May 2013 10:19 AM PDT AT&T CTO John Donovan once suggested that companies like Netflix or Spotify might pay the carrier to subsidize the data charges consumers accrue using those services.
