Samsung Galaxy Note II to get Android 5

It is nice to see that Samsung is supporting some of its aging smartphones with new software updates. The company is rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Galaxy S4, a device that is nearly two years old. It's good news for owners of those handsets, and there is also good news for owners of the even older Galaxy Note II as Samsung has reiterated its plans to give that handset the Lollipop bump too.

I have said numerous times before that it is worth downloading the Amazon App Store for Android as a companion to the Google Play Store. Sure, there are no exclusive titles on there, but every so often Amazon has a blockbuster sale that simply makes its App Store worthwhile, even for Android users. The retail giant is back again with another of those bonanza sales.

HTC Petra Smartwatch for iOS and Android... No Android Wear

HTC has been perhaps the most interesting company to follow in terms of wearables. The company is in a will it, won't it situation, delaying its smartwatch last year but now likely to announce it alongside the One M9 smartphone flagship at MWC next month. However, it seems as though HTC will have one more surprise up its sleeve and will make its smartwatch cross platform.

Samsung has launched its latest smartphone, the budget minded entry level Galaxy J1. However, while the new handset carries a modest price tag, the Galaxy J1 has come in for criticism early in its life for being too expensive.
