Samsung Galaxy S4 Getting Android 5 Lollipop in India

Samsung has recently started rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop to select region devices, and of course the Korean company has a lot more handsets to deal with compared to other companies. The latest to be getting a lick of Android 5 is the Indian version of the Samsung Galaxy S4. The Russian and other select European versions of the handset have already received the update, but the Indian device is also in on the act.

Original Moto X to get Android 5.0 Lollipop

Motorola has been updating its smartphones to Android 5.0 Lollipop recently and has confirmed even 2013 DROID's will be getting the bump to Google's latest and greatest. The company has really been on the ball, but one smartphone is conspicuous by its absence from the Lollipop party. Motorola has updated 1st and 2nd gen Moto G's, the Moto E, and the second gen Moto X, but not the original Moto X.

T-Mobile Updates HTC One M8 to Android 5.0 Lollipop

HTC has completed its Android 5.0 Lollipop preparations for the One M8 flagship on time, as it said it would within three months of the software's release. However, once the update is in the hands of the carriers it is up to them as to when the patch reaches your handset. Luckily, T-Mobile is acting fast and the HTC One M8 is now receiving the update on the Magenta network.

Sony Xperia Z4 Delayed, One Flagship per Year

I have often found Sony's model of releasing two generations of smartphone flagship each year baffling. It has diluted the company's impact on the high end smartphone market, even though each Xperia Z has been admittedly outstanding. Luckily the Japanese giant seems to be retreating to the normal model employed by all its rivals, at least that is the rumor today.

Samsung is the number one smartphone company in the world. Despite its recent problems, the company sits atop the pile on a global level and has also dominated most markets for a number of years. However, success in Japan has always proved elusive for the South Korean brand, despite the fact that Samsung made its recent Galaxy Note Edge a priority in Japan.

Apple Focusing on Stability and Performance with iOS 9

iOS 8 may only be midway through its life cycle, but Apple is obviously already preparing its follow up, iOS 9. Codenamed Monarch, it has been popping up lately with several sources spilling the proverbial beans on the software. Likely to be announced early this summer and rolled out with new products in the fall, iOS 9 will reportedly be much more stable platform.
