Sparrow will update to support iPhone 5 soon

Posted: 24 Sep 2012 10:16 AM PDT

Sparrow, the popular Mac and iOS email client acquired by Google in July, will issue an update to make the app more compatible with the Apple iPhone 5. Posted: 24 Sep 2012 07:39 AM PDT

The company trails AT&T and Verizon, which serves nearly 3 and 20 times as many markets respectively, but it's farther along than T-Mobile, which has yet to launch its LTE network.

Netflix adds new user experience for Android 2.3 - for real this time

Posted: 24 Sep 2012 07:31 AM PDT

Netflix temporarily updated its user interface last week, but a new update to the Android app has finally made those changes permanent. As I noted last week when the changes first appeared on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the new Netflix has a design that more closely resembles the interface on tablet and television apps. It has a new home screen with search, genre browsing, recently viewed movies and TV episodes, and several recommendations. Tapping on a clip brings up information about the film or show, and double-tapping immediately begins playback. Android 2.3 or later is required to see the new interface. Download Netflix for Android
