T-Mobile HTC HD2 software update now available, back up your data first

Today T-Mobile announced an update to the HTC HD2. Unfortunately, upgrading will reset your phone to factory settings, so T-Mobile suggests that you back it up using Microsoft My Phone first, and save your media to a microSD card. The update improves stability and performance, and also adds T-Mobile's MyAccount application for managing your T-Mobile account directly.

AT&T launches myWireless Mobile for Android smartphones

Today AT&T announced its free myWireless Mobile account management software for Android smartphones. The software, available in the Android Market, lets you manage your account features, pay your bill, check your account data usage and minutes, and even change your plan. The software currently works with AT&T's Motorola Backflip smartphone, and is already available on a couple of other non-Android handsets.

Virgin Media UK to offer HTC Wildfire Android phone

Research in Motion shares details on BlackBerry Internet Service 3.1

On its website Research in Motion (RIM) has posted an overview of BlackBerry Internet Service 3.1. The latest version will offer two-way wireless sync for Alt-N MDaemon v11 via SyncML, Windows Live Hotmail, and Yahoo Mail contacts sync. Group email contacts for those services are not supported. Also, when you swap your BlackBerry now, you'll need to first insert your SIM to change your PIN associated with your BIS email accounts. CDMA users will still have to call their wireless carrier first.

Autonet powering WiFi in school buses in roughly 25 school districts
