Opera Mobile emulator released for developer testing

Today Opera Software announced a release of Opera Mobile for Windows, Linux, and Mac computers that will allow developers to emulate its Opera Mobile browser. The software supports a host of mobile display sizes and can help developers test their mobile widgets on their computer, so that they don't have to purchase multiple testing devices. The software is available from opera.com/developer/tools.

LG Mystique QWERTY feature phone headed to U.S. Cellular

Today LG announced that it will be launching the LG Mystique, otherwise known as the LG Lotus Elite on Sprint. The clamshell QWERTY device offers a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth support, a microSD card slot for up to 16GB of storage, and an external touchscreen. Google Maps 4.1 with search by voice lands on Windows Mobile and Symbian S60

Google has announced Google Maps 4.1 for Windows Mobile and Symbian smartphones, which now includes search by voice functionality. The feature, already available on Android and BlackBerry smartphones, lets you speak your search by pressing your phone's call button. Search by voice supports multiple English accents and Mandarin Chinese. Install it by visiting m.google.com/maps in your phone's web browser.

Nokia delays Symbian^3, cuts prices across portfolio

Hours before Nokia reported its first quarter 2010 earnings today, Reuters reported that the company has also delayed its upcoming Symbian^3 operating system and is cutting prices across its portfolio as much as ten percent. Symbian^3 is now expected to make its debut during the second half of the year, instead of during the second quarter as was originally expected. Symbian^3 products should be available on the market by the third quarter. Nokia admitted in its earnings statement that it is facing tough competition in the high end cell phone market.
