FCC looking at Verizon's increased early termination fees

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the FCC has issued a letter indicating that it is looking into the newly increased early termination fees Verizon is charging with some of its smartphones.

An unboxing and first hands-on look at the Samsung Omnia II for Verizon, a Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone with Samsung's TouchWiz 2.0 user interface and a 3D cube menu. The Omnia II features a great design and a huge WVGA resolution AMOLED display.

Comcast says Clearwire reasonably likely to succeed in WiMAX rollout

During a conference call Thursday, Comcast CEO Brian Roberts said that after Clearwire's recent $2.8 billion round of funding, the company has a "reasonable likelihood" to succeed in rolling-out its 4G WiMAX network.

Motorola invests in Anywhere MultiTouch technology

Motorola has invested in Sensitive Object, developer of Anywhere MultiTouch, a platform that analyzes sound waves to turn any surface, including glass, metal, and plastic into a interface for touch-based UIs.

Google joins Microsoft, Nokia, others in I3A camera phone rating system initiative

The International Imaging Industry Association has announced that Google has joined its ranks and that both Google and existing member Microsoft will be participating in a program that aims to develop a camera phone quality rating system.
