Amazon Selling Unlocked Sony Xperia C5 Ultra in U.S.

Sony's latest smartphones have been slowly trickling onto the U.S. market in recent week, of course virtually all in an unofficial capacity as Sony typically gives the United States the proverbial cold shoulder. Hot on the heels of the Xperia Z5 flagship range coming to several retailers is the Xperia C5 Ultra, a massive handset that was actually launched at the start of August.

Samsung Galaxy A7 Passes through FCC

A couple of days after doing the rounds at TENAA, the 2015 Samsung Galaxy A7 has been passed by the FCC, meaning it is clear to launch in the United States. With the handset passing the two regulatory bodies it is all but certain that Samsung is going to unveil the device soon. Indeed, a December 1st launch date has already been rumored and we would not be surprised.

Apple Takes Bulk of Enterprise Activations in Q3

Apple is continuing to make significant strides in the enterprise market and through the third quarter of this year (June 1 to September 30) the company was responsible for 66% of all enterprise devices activated. The company's iOS platform, which includes iPhones and iPads, led the way in the market and rose 2% compared to the 64% enterprise activations in the second quarters.

A blast from the past, it is still amazing to think that mobile juggernaut Nokia is no longer really with us in a hardware capacity. While Nokia helped to put the Windows platform on the map in recent years, the company is still best known for being the feature phone king, the best selling mobile phone maker in the world during the 2000-2010 decade. We have been waiting a very long time for Xiaomi to launch the Mi 5 flagship, a follow up to its current Mi 4 that was launched way back at the end of the summer in 2014. In flagship terms that is an eternity and in that time every other company has launched a new high end device, while many (Samsung, Apple, LG, Meizu, Sony) have launched two.

The second generation Samsung Galaxy A7 mid-range smartphone has passed through TENAA, the Chinese regulatory service that passes products for sale in the country. All of the new A series handsets are gearing up for launch, with the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 already passing TENAA and the FCC, while the Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A9 are also rumored to be landing soon.

A week after the Sony Xperia Z5 arrived in the United States, its jacked up sibling the Xperia Z5 Premium has also made its debut. It is worth noting that, just like the Xperia Z5, the Premium is only available in its International variant, which means it is not being sold officially through Sony so will not come with any warranty in the United States.

We are still waiting for Xiaomi to launch a replacement for the nearly 18 month old Mi 4 flagship, but while we are waiting for that handset the company has treated us to another high end device. The Redmi Note 3, in many ways, is a clear pointer to where the Chinese company is going with its next flagship as it comes with plenty of Xiaomi firsts. With a killer price and appealing specs, one may even wonder if we need the Mi 5 to launch.
