Forbes names Apple as most valuable brand

Forbes has released its annual list of the world's most valuable companies and (un)surprisingly the table is topped by Apple. The magazine/website values the iPhone maker at a whopping $124.2 billion, a number that is more than double any other company on the list and much more than Cupertino?s rivals.

Moto Maxx is the international DROID Turbo

A week after launching the DROID Turbo exclusively with Verizon, Motorola is rolling the device out to other regions of the world, although it will be known as the Moto Maxx. This international version of the device gives Motorola two flagship quality devices, the Moto X and Moto Maxx, and we could even include the Nexus 9 that is built by the company.

OnePlus One to sell 1 million units

The OnePlus One has had a mixed bag of publicity, ranging from enthusiastic because of the undoubted quality of the handset to disappointing because of terrible marketing decisions and numerous delays in releasing the product. However, the budget flagship smartphone is now readying itself for wider availability and the company's Co-Founder Carl Pei spoke with Forbes at the Dublin based Web Summit about OnePlus, the One, and the Chinese company?s goals.

Samsung explains recent security flaw, but deepens the mystery

Recently it has emerged that Samsung's Find My Mobile service that lets users find a lost or stolen device may have a security flaw. Several security reports have shown that the feature leaves devices open to attacks from hackers operating remotely. Samsung has acknowledged the problem today, but interestingly the company's explanation has added a little confusion to the mix.

T-Mobile and AT&T confirm the Moto 360

A couple of the biggest carriers in the United States have announced this week that they will be selling the Moto 360 Android Wear smartwatch this month. AT&T signalled its intentions yesterday, while T-Mobile has followed suit today with confirmation that it will be selling the most popular wearable currently on the market. The two follow Verizon as Big Red already confirmed the Moto 360 for sale on November 11th.

The Nexus 6 is easily the best device Google has been involved in, the Motorola built device is pure flagship and has been welcomed by smartphone fans. When the handset launched on the Google Play Store things went south, with servers collapsing under the strain and the device selling out in the blink of an eye.

Sony issues big update for Xperia Z2, with PS4 Remote Play

Sony has issued a new update for its Xperia Z2 smartphone and the Xperia Z2 Tablet that brings some of the features found on the recently launched Xperia Z3 flagship products. The big news is the addition of the PS4 Remote Play feature in the update, something that landed on the Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet back in September.

LG and Google enter 10 year patent share

LG and Google have entered into a patent sharing partnership together that will allow both companies to license each other's ideas. The accord covers all existing patent held by Google and LG, as well as any filed over the next ten years. I suppose there will be a lot of patents filed by both companies over the next decade, so get ready for a lot of Google/LG sharing.
