The Samsung Galaxy Gear has started receiving the software update that Samsung promised would make the smart watch compatible with more smartphones, including the Galaxy S 4. In addition to freeing the watch from only connecting to the Galaxy Note 3, the Galaxy Gear update also adds improves app management, adds notifications from all sources, and better gesture support. Users can check for an update by going to Settings > More > About Device > Select Software Update > Select Check for Updates.
