EE adds 4G LTE to 12 new towns in UK, expands coverage in Scotland and Wales

EE has brought 4G LTE to its 187th town today with the launch of service in 12 new markets. It also expanded coverage in areas between Edingburgh and Glasgow, and Cardiff and Swansea, so travelers between those towns should maintain decent service. Customers in the following locations can today upgrade to a 4G plan and enjoy faster service: Antrim, Bridgend, Burnley, Coleraine, Leigh, Livingston, Macclesfield, Newtownabbey, Nuneaton, Pontypool, Sittingbourne and Tamworth.

Microsoft Office for iPad launches with free viewing and editing features requiring a paid subscription

You can now create a Microsoft Word document, Excel spreadsheet, or PowerPoint presentation on an iPad and not have to rely on third-party software to do it. The only trick is you'll need to be a Microsoft Office 365 subscriber to do it.

Sprint HTC One Max Android 4.4 KitKat update commences

Sprint has begun updating the HTC One Max to Android 4.4.2 KitKat. While it's not the same version of the software seen on the recently announced HTC One M8, this version of KitKat does provide some subtle improvements to Sense 5, performance enhancements for multitasking and loading content, security patches, new Bluetooth profiles, and the Cloud Print service to access wireless printers from the phone. The update measures 344 MB is rolling out in stages starting today. Be sure to charge your battery at least 75 percent before installing the update. Check for the update in Settings > About Phone > Software update > Check now.

Sprint joins with CCA to cut down on dead zones in rural areas, will add 700 MHz support to some phones

Sprint has announced that it will partner with the Competitive Carrier Association and NetAmerica Alliance to build 4G LTE in more rural areas, cutting down on the number of areas where customers are unable to access Sprint's network.

Samsung Galaxy S5 on sale now in Korea despite Samsung's protest
