The Moto Maker website opened up last Friday, but the system was rather silly because it was "open" only if someone went to an AT&T store to get a voucher to use online. Motorola has announced that potential Moto X buyers can now skip that unnecessary step and go directly to MotoMaker.com to customize a Moto X. So if you've wanted a new device and have $199 and two years of your smartphone life to surrender to AT&T, have at it! All of the many smartphones that I've used this year have some form of voice memo or recording application, and all have done a good enough job. Could a mobile device also be good enough to be a primary recording device? The iRig Mic Cast thinks that sounds like a good idea. 
Kickstarter is home to many doomed projects, but there are some that provide such an obvious "Why hasn't anyone already thought of this?" solution that the product almost instantly succeeds. Pressy, a button that plugs into a phone's headphone jack and automates actions, is one of those projects.
