European Commission charges Samsung with patent abuse for injunction request

The European Commission today announced that it has sent a Statement of Objection to Samsung on potential misuse of patents, a preliminary step that could lead to a fine of up to 10 percent of the company's annual worldwide turnover.

AT&T 4G LTE hits Boise, Hartford, Ogden and more

Days after launching or expanding its 4G LTE network in nine markets, AT&T has launched LTE service in six additional markets. The latest markets added to AT&T's growing footprint include: Boulder, Colo.; Hartford, Conn.; New Haven, Conn.; Boise, Idaho; Bowling Green, Ky.; Harrisburg, Pa.; Lancaster, Pa.; Providence, R.I.; and Ogden, Utah. The expansions increase AT&T's total of LTE markets launched during the month of December to 29.

RIM reports $114 million net loss in third quarter 2013; BlackBerry 10 can't get here soon enough

RIM managed to maintain about 79 million global users based on shipping 6.9 million smartphones and 255,000 BlackBerry PlayBooks in the quarter. However, those shipments did not lead to enough sales to break RIM's four-quarter streak of spending more money than the company generates.

T-Mobile HSPA+ network modernized for New York, Boston, Dallas and several other major markets
