Netflix for iOS adds HD and AirPlay background streaming

Netflix has released Version 5.0 of its iOS app that includes the typical "playback optimizations" for the on-demand streaming of movies and television shows. The highlight features of the new launch are Netflix HD for iOS 7, which will allow for streaming higher-quality HD video, and AirPlay streaming to an Apple TV. Netflix previously supported AirPlay through mirroring, but the iOS 7 version can now offer background streaming to play video without the user having to remain in the app. Download Netflix for iOS

HTC One Android 4.3 update rolling out to Sprint today

Sprint is sending the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to the HTC One starting today. Jason Mackenzie of HTC America just tweeted that Sprint will begin the rollout today and multiple users have already reported that they are able to see the latest version of Jelly Bean. Not all users will see the update at once, but users can check by going to Settings > About phone. Android 4.3 adds the longer battery life when using Bluetooth, restricted profiles, Blinkfeed adjustments, and various improvements to the Sense user interface.
