Will Facebook buying WhatsApp for $19 billion make you switch to another messaging service? Probably not.

Facebook announced late last night that it had agreed to purchase mobile messaging app WhatsApp for $19 billion in cash and stock. That made some people promise to never use WhatsApp again, but that's just an idle threat in most cases.

HTC chose to debut its next smartphone at a private press event rather than the upcoming Mobile World Congress, but the company will still have a few pieces of new hardware to show; it just won't be to the public.
