Google partially blocks mobile services in China

After withdrawing its search features from China, Google's Mainland China service availability website says that part of its mobile services are also blocked in the country, as of yesterday. It remains unclear what's specifically blocked, but YouTube, Google Sites, and Blogger are all completely blocked while Docs, Picasa, Groups, and Mobile are all partially blocked in the country.

Apple iPad pre-orders now shipping, rumored to sell at Best Buy April 3rd

Orange offers three new gaming services, including Orange iPhone games

Today Orange announced three new gaming services for its wireless customers: Playtomo, Games Zone, and Orange iPhone Games. Playtomo lets subscribers play games for free and share their scores with social networking sites. Games Zone is a subscription service that provides two games each month and a 20 percent discount on game purchases. Orange iPhone Games are titles designed and produced by Orange that are available in the Apple App Store for the iPhone.

Verizon Wireless BlackBerry Tour will gain push-to-talk on March 30

Today Verizon Wireless announced that push-to-talk functionality will be available on the BlackBerry Tour beginning on March 30th. After adding push-to-talk service to your plan, you'll be able to download the push-to-talk app from the Application Center or from the VZStart app on your handset. The left convenience key will serve as the push-to-talk button.

Sprint launches 4G network in Houston, dubs Texas "Biggest 4G state"

Today Sprint announced that its 4G WiMAX network is now available in Houston, Texas. With WiMAX in other Texas markets including Abilene, Amarillo, Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Forth Worth, Killeen/Temple, Lubbock, Midland/Odessa, San Antonio, Waco, and Wichita Falls, Sprint is now dubbing Texas the "Biggest 4G state." Sprint 4G is currently available in 28 markets in the U.S. and it plans to launch 4G in more major markets this year.
