LG ships 12.3 million smartphones in Q1 2014 Posted: 29 Apr 2014 07:00 AM PDT LG is finding more ways onto store shelves, a sign of an increase in consumer demand and better performance. The Korean phone manufacturer revealed today that it shipped 12.3 million smartphones in the first three months of 2014. Without a major new product other than the G Pro 2, which still hasn't launched in North America, LG managed to report a 19 percent increase from the same period last year. LG shipped 5 million smartphones that were LTE-capable, a 14 percentage point increase compared to last year. Things are expected to improve next quarter now that LG has confirmed intentions to launch the G3 soon. Read the full story here. |
