One great side effect of BlackBerry bringing its Messenger app to Android and iOS last year was that it grew the community of BBM users by tens of millions. However, the Android version supported only Android 4.0, excluding millions of users still on Android 2.3. That will change soon.

Samsung promises to fix Galaxy Note 3 issue affecting third-party cases

Though Samsung originally claimed that there was no correlation between the Android 4.4 release and the sudden incompatibility of third-party S-View cases for the Galaxy Note 3, the company has pledged to issue another update that restores compatibility to unofficial cases.

HTC One KitKat update now live in Europe

HTC has started rolling out the Android 4.4 KitKat update to the HTC One devices in some parts of Europe. HTC pledged to deliver the update within 90 days of KitKat being announced, and today's update makes good on that promise with just a handful of days to spare.
