Actually, Google is going to lose a lot of money by selling Motorola

Since Google announced that it would sell Motorola to Lenovo for $2.91, a paltry sum considering that the company paid $12.5 billion to acquire Motorola just two years ago, reports have popped up suggesting that the losses are not that bad because of the patents that Google gets to keep. Even with the patents, buying Motorola is still a big loss.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 was thought to have an iris scanner when an executive confirmed that Samsung was exploring the technology but might not have it ready this year. Though the Galaxy S5 might not have an iris scanner, it will almost surely have a fingerprint scanner based on new images from the consistently accurate evleaks.

AT&T pays new and existing customers $100 to start a new line

AT&T today announced a $100 per line bill credit for any customer that starts a new line of service on the wireless network. New and existing subscribers get an automatic $100 credit on a bill when signing up for an AT&T Next, BYOD, or a standard two-year agreement. The temporary offer runs from now until March 31, 2014. The $100 credit will be reflected within one of the first three billing cycles.
