Smartphone screen sizes have reached ridiculous levels since the so-called "phablet" era began, but few sights are as bizarre as the idea of making phone calls on a tablet. That doesn't mean that making phone calls on an ASUS FonePad or Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 are as crazy as you think.

Instagram reaches 100 million user milestone, 3X number of users reported a year ago

Instagram, the popular photo-sharing service Facebook acquired for $1 billion last year, has just announced that more than 100 million people access Instagram every month. Despite previous suggestions that the post-Facebook acquisition and a proposed change to its terms and conditions may have led to an exodus of users, Instagram's active audience is more than three times greater than the total number of users reported 10 months ago.

Facebook Connect has become an almost standard way for developers to let users sign-in to mobile apps without having to create new user accounts. Google today announced that it will provide that same option to Google users looking to connect with new Android apps.

The Nokia Lumia 920 has one of the best smartphone cameras on the market. Surprisingly, the Nokia 301 feature phone has a new camera mode that could enhance the picture-taking process if were to be implemented in the camera for the Lumia 920 and other Nokia Windows 8 smartphones.
