Samsung WILL NOT Launch Galaxy S7 this Year

Reports earlier this week suggested that Samsung will release a Galaxy S7 flagship during the second half of 2015 in a bid to directly compete with Apple's iPhone 6s (or iPhone 7). The rumor stumbled onto South Korean media, but we our source within Samsung has shot down the reports and said that the company will stick to the launch window it has already set.

Xiaomi Sold 35 Million Smartphones in Six Months

Samsung and Apple dominate the mobile space, but there is a very interesting battle behind those heavyweights for who should be next in line. Third place in the market is currently held by Lenovo (thanks to buying Motorola), while Xiaomi and Huawei are also in the mix. Chinese company Xiaomi is certainly going from strength to strength and recorded a bumper first quarter to put itself in a position to snatch third place.

LG Quarterly Estimated Slashed Amid Slow G4 Sales

BlackBerry Holds Steady Through Fiscal First Quarter

BlackBerry managed to confound analysts during the first quarter and recorded a profit, something that was hardly expected to happen. The company has now announced its second quarter financials, and while they are not as surprising as last period, the numbers should please BlackBerry's CEO John Chen.

Sony Xperia M4 Aqua Available Unlocked in United States

Sony announced the Xperia M4 Aqua back in March, but as is the norm for the company there was no announcement on if the handset would launch in the United States. The handset landed in 80 other countries around the world, but Sony has yet to launch the M4 Aqua in the U.S.. That does not mean it is unavailable in the country though as it has arrived unlocked via Amazon and can be bought from today.

The LG G4 is rolling out in Canada now, with the flagship device coming to major carriers such as Rogers, Bell, Telus, Wind Mobile and Videotron, as well as several nationwide retailers. There is definitely competition amongst the networks to offer the best deal for the G4, with Videotron offering $130 worth of free stuff, such as an extra battery, charger, and 32GB micro SD card.

Sony Launches Xperia Z3+ in UK

Sony has launched its new Xperia Z3+ flagship in the United Kingdom, and continuing a recent trend from the company in that region, there are some free goodies to sweeten the deal. The handset will be available across all major networks and will come a free pair of high-res Sony headphones and a three month subscription to the Jay-Z founded Tidal music streaming service.

LG G4 Pro Specs Revealed

LG has already confirmed that it will launch another flagship smartphone in 2015, one that will sit alongside the G4 as a large screen alternative. That is thought to be the G Pro 3, or the G4 Pro is LG wants to capitalize on its flagship range more. HTC is now rolling out Android Lollipop to its One Max, the oversized version of the company's old One M7 flagship. The company is finally getting around to this update because the Max is still a solid mid-range phablet, although it was not a big seller, most consumers preferring (rightly) the more compact One M7.

Samsung Galaxy S5 to get Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

T-Mobile has already started updating the Samsung Galaxy S6 to Android 5.1.1, starting the roll out earlier this week. The Magenta Network could now turning its focus to the older Galaxy S5, which was of course Samsung's 2014 flagship smartphone. That's because the Korean super company is currently working on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop software, meaning it should be coming to T-Mobile and indeed all carriers soon.

Verizon Offering Microsoft Lumia 735 from Today

Verizon has announced that it will begin carrying the Microsoft Lumia 735, with the U.S. based carrier selling the smartphone from today onwards. That means that Big Red is the only carrier in the United States to be offering Microsoft mid-range device that used to be called the Nokia Lumia 735 before Microsoft rebranded it.
