"Patent Troll" Wins as Motorola Found Guilty of Patent Infringement

Motorola has been found guilty of infringing a patent related to MMS technology by a jury in Delaware. The technology is used for multimedia texting on mobile products and the patent in question was owned by Intellectual Ventures, a company that is unsurprisingly known for patents it holds on intellectual properties.

Samsung Galaxy S6 has Worse Battery Life than Galaxy S5, But it?s Not that Bad

PhoneArena has found that battery life on the recently announced Samsung Galaxy S6 is below that of its predecessor, the Galaxy S5. That of course is a rather remarkable stat considering battery power is becoming a very important spec for consumers. The fact that the juicer in the Galaxy S6 is not removable has already been criticized and it seems with good reason. However, there are some factors at play that should be discussed.

HTC One M9 Plus Event April 8th

HTC's recently launched One M9 flagship divided opinion, an extremely good handset for sure, but perhaps too close to the One M8 for comfort. In terms of some of the other flagships currently finding their way to the market, one could even argue that the One M9 is a little undercut in terms of specs and HTC could have gone one step further.

Samsung and LG Confirms Bendy Smartphones in 2016

Samsung and LG both have smartphones that employ curved glass technology, while Samsung has gone a step further with devices sporting actual folding glass. However, in the development stage glass that can be rolled, folded, bent and twisted is in development. Both LG and Samsung have said 2016 could be the date that the first devices with this technology come to the market.

Huawei Bringing Honor 4X to India

Huawei has announced that the Honor 4X budget smartphone is to be launched in India. The handset was launched back in December as a Chinese exclusive, but following compatriot Xiaomi, Huawei has decided to roll out the device in India too. Chinese companies are aggressively targeting India this year and are making headway in the next major smartphone market.

While it is fully expected that Samsung's newest phablet flagship is getting the latest version of Android, the fact the Galaxy Note 3 is also receiving Lollipop today is a little more surprising.

US Cellular will Carry LG G Flex 2 from This Week

The LG G Flex 2 has been out in the wild for a couple of months and is available in the United States through Sprint. However, the Now Network's exclusive hold on the curved screen smartphone is coming to end though as US Cellular has announced that it will start selling the G Flex 2 as well. The carrier will begin selling the device March 26 (Thursday) and will even undercut Sprint on price.

While Apple uses a relatively small 8 megapixel camera on its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, but the shooter is among the best smartphone snappers on the market. The company takes the photography side of its handset seriously and is taking things a step further with a new patent. Apple applied for and was awarded a patent for a new type of mobile camera technology that would add a zoom lens to the module.

Microsoft makes a lot of money from Android, and the company is certainly going to be looking for ways to cross platforms more often in the future. Teaming up with the biggest Android name, Samsung, is certainly one way to go about it. AT&T Lollipop Update for Galaxy Note 4 Loses Interruptions

AT&T's Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is going to be receiving a new version of Android 5.0 Lollipop, the same one that was rolled out for the device in the Netherlands recently. This newer build of Android 5.0 gets rid of the much maligned "Interruptions" that replaced "Mute" on Google's OS. Muting the device now needs to be done by entering the Quick Settings Menu, instead of using the volume.

Brand tie in or just codename? A new Xiaomi smartphone has found its way to GFXBench for benchmarking scores and is using the name "Ferrari". Is Xiaomi working with the Italian sports car manufacturer in the same way BlackBerry and Porsche did, or is this merely a codename? The latter is more likely, but a Ferrari smartphone would be something we would like to see whether it is with Xiaomi or not.
