Google I/O registration begins March 13 at 7 AM PDT

Google I/O, Google's annual developer conference, has a habit of selling out quickly - a little too quickly for all but a tiny portion of hopeful registrants - so it's best to be prepared and ready to sign-up the moment Google starts the process. I/O 2013 will be held May 15 to 17, and the company just announced that Google I/O Registration opens March 13, 2013 at 7 AM PDT / 10 AM ET. A Google+ and Google Wallet account will be required to complete the registration, so be sure to take care of that beforehand.

Kyocera Torque heading to Sprint, 4G LTE and element resistance included, for $99 next month

Sprint has enlisted a new Kyocera smartphone with military-grade resistance to the elements and a few other choice features heading to its network. Sprint today announced that the Kyocera Torque, the first "Ultra Rugged" 4G LTE phone to support push-to-talk and a new call enhancement feature, will debut on its network March 8.

Snapchat Android app sends videos that auto-delete seconds later

Snapchat, the app that enables short-term sharing of photos that are automatically deleted after the recipient views the image, now includes video-sharing. Snapchat previously supported video only on its Apple iOS app, but the Android app has improved to enable video sharing, along with unspecified performance improvements. There's no word yet if the Snapchat Android app also has an exploit that allows recipients to permanently save Snapchat videos like they can on iPhone.Download Snapchat on Android

Google Drive Android app adds video streaming and pinch-to-zoom for presentations

Google today updated its Drive application for Android is now able to stream videos. Google Drive has previously included the ability to store videos and other files, but accessing the video required downloading the file to the device. Drive now enables streaming as soon as the user taps on a video and streams within the app. The latest version also makes some unspecified performance improvements and bug fixes, and adds the ability to pinch-to-zoom on a presentation.
