Video: Motorola Connected Media Player for CLIQ XT video demo

I managed to get a copy of a pre-release version of the Connected Media Player that will ship on the Motorola CLIQ XT (QUENCH), and it's very slick. Shoutcast radio support, synchronized lyrics, and TuneWiki mapping are some of the new features.

Video: Motorola CLIQ 1.3.18 firmware update - in fast forward!

This really isn't that interesting, but if you want to see what the new Motorola CLIQ 1.3.18 firmware update process is like - here it is running at 4x normal speed. It took 9:44 in real time, but you get to see it in only 2 minutes and 26 seconds.

Sprint announces new 4G WiMAX markets for 2010, including New York, Boston, and San Francisco

Sprint said today that it will release its Sprint 4G WiMAX network in Boston, Denver, Kansas City, Houston, Minneapolis, New York, San Francisco, and Washington D.C. this year. By the end of 2010, Sprint hopes its WiMAX network, currently available in 27 markets, will cover up to 120 million people.

Slacker Radio updates Android and BlackBerry apps for wireless caching

Today Slacker Radio, the popular streaming internet radio service, issued updates to its Blackberry and Android radio applications. Users on those platforms can now cache their favorite radio stations while connected to a 3G or WiFi network. That allows you to play stored music later when your phone loses wireless coverage. Cached music lasts for 14 days.

Sprint "Buyback" program now accepting most phones, regardless of carrier or brand

On Capitol Hill today, Sprint's CEO Dan Hesse said that the carrier will now accept over 900 devices as part of its Buyback program, which provides Sprint account credit, regardless of the carrier or manufacturer.

Motorola issuing CLIQ 1.3.18 over-the-air software update

Motorola is issuing software update 1.3.18 out to T-Mobile Motorola CLIQ phones beginning today. The update should improve battery life, the touch screen's sensitivity, and GPS performance. It includes the latest versions of Google Maps, Talk, YouTube, and Market. Other enhancements involve better SIM card management, stability fixes, support for new .WMA and .WAV Windows media files, and improved caller notifications. Motorola recommends keeping your phone fully charged during the update.

Messaging behind the wheel? NHTSA wants ban on texting while driving

Microsoft updates Marketplace - smartphone apps can now install to memory cards

The update to the Windows Mobile Marketplace that Microsoft announced a few days ago is now available. Among the updates is the new ability to install downloaded applications to an external memory card. The ability to look at apps intended for different countries has also been added.
