T-Mobile has grown hugely over the last few years by taking the fight to the likes of Verizon and AT&T, using its Uncarrier movement to give the consumer a potent alternative in the market. It has been a huge success and today the Magenta Network took aim at Verizon specifically with a new ad campaign that leaves it in no uncertain terms what T-Mobile thinks of the largest carrier in the United States.

T-Mobile Updating Samsung Galaxy Note Edge to Android Lollipop

It has only been a week since T-Mobile started sending Android 5.0.1 Lollipop to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, and today the Note Edge is also in line for the update. The "Uncarrier" network officially announced that the upgrade is going to the device with the curved screen from today in a staged over the air roll out.

HTC One M9ew Passes TENNA

HTC is going One M9 crazy; after launching the flagship the Taiwanese company has launched several variants of the handset. We don't think they should be doing that considering the M9 has hardly been a success so far, but HTC is carrying on and will be pushing out another one. The One M9ew, a plastic version of the M9+ has passed through TENNA.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Iron Man Special Edition

With Avengers: Age of Ultron currently storming theaters, it is fitting to have a smartphone tie-in and no company does marking quite like Samsung. The world's largest smartphone company has announced a new special edition of its Galaxy S6 flagship, one that is colored like Iron Man's armour. Is this the smartphone Tony Stark would use? Who knows, but this funky color certainly looks good. In fact, all the Avengers are covered, so there is a Hulk color, a Captain America color, and... well you get the picture.

Samsung Working on Tizen Based Z2

Samsung launched its first Tizen based smartphone, the Z1, earlier in the year and the device has enjoyed solid sales in India. Now the South Korean company is going to expand its own platform further by launching a sequel which will be called (surprise, surprise) the Z2. The new handset is going to apparently launch during the first half of this year, although that would mean it should land in the next two months.

Verizon Caught Lying Over Internet Speeds

Verizon has been caught getting all economical with the truth when trying to convince customers to upgrade to more expensive services. Ok, we get it, that an internet provider, or just about any organization in the business of selling, would lie to get consumers to part with more cash is hardly shock of the century. However, it is both funny and interesting just how Big Red was caught in the act.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Receiving Android Lollipop After-all

Earlier today we told you about Samsung's decision not to update the Galaxy Note 2 to Android 5.0 Lollipop, as confirmed by Samsung Gulf on a Facebook post. However, there are contradictory messages now coming from Samsung Spain, with that division of the Korean company saying that the aging phablet will indeed be getting the latest full build of Google's operating system.

2015 has been all about the flagships so far, we have seen new flag waving smartphones from HTC, Xiaomi, Samsung, Sony, LG and others. However, not everyone can afford a flagship, even in blue chip markets where handsets are subsidized, so how do you get high end kicks or flagship build quality otherwise? We would like to qualify that we think the mid-range market is getting better and the budget market is vibrant, but we still think there are some older flagships that provide better alternatives.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Note Receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop

Today seems to be the day of companies deciding not to update handsets to Android 5.0 Lollipop. After HTC's shock news that it will not upgrade the barely year old HTC One Mini 2, Samsung is apparently not going to update the Galaxy Note 2. Samsung Gulf (the Persian Gulf wing of the company) said on Facebook said in no uncertain terms that the phablet handset will not be getting Android Lollipop.

HTC One Mini 2 Not Getting Android 5.0 Lollipop

The HTC One Mini 2 is barely a year old but today the Taiwanese company dropped a huge bombshell by saying the handset WILL NOT be getting Android 5.0 Lollipop. In a tweet HTC said that Lollipop and the One Mini 2 would not provide an optimum experience, without elaborating on quite why that is. That leaves the device back on good old KitKat.

TAG Heuer Smartwatch to Cost $1400

TAG Heuer has been vocal in the wearable market and has discussed its upcoming Android Wear smartwatch in-depth. The luxury timepiece brand announced its first wearable last month, but did not go into when exactly the TAG Heuer Smartwatch would arrive or indeed how much it will cost. Now the company has announced both and as you would expect from the Swiss company, this is not an affordable product.

T-Mobile CEO John Legere to Look into Data Throttling Accusations

Things may still be going very well for T-Mobile but the American carrier does have some problems too, with the company's CEO forced today to deny accusations that the network throttles high data networks. A Reddit post this week was filled with T-Mobile customers on the Unlimited 4G Data Plan complaining about what they think is data throttling.

Microsoft Wants One Billion Windows Devices in Two Years

Microsoft's Build conference was held yesterday and there were plenty of big things announced about Windows 10, while the company also revealed what it expects from its mobile division in the coming years. Indeed, Microsoft says that it has huge plans for the universal Windows 10 (which works on multiple form factors) and will sell one billion devices over the next two to three years.
