Motorola is always one of the first OEM's to upgrade its smartphones to the latest versions of Android, and the company is thorough too, getting the update to numerous products in double time. The proof is in the proverbial pudding as Motorola has many handsets already rocking Android 5.0 Lollipop. However, some older devices are still rocking Android 4.4 KitKat and will not be receiving Android 5.0, but don't worry it is not because Motorola is getting lazy.

ASUS ZenFone 2 to Sell 30 Million Units

The ASUS ZenFone 2 is a terrific smartphone, in all of its various guises, so there is hardly any surprise that it has won wide acclaim or that ASUS expects it to drive smartphone sales for the company this year. In fact the Taiwanese brand says that it can move 30 million smartphones before the end of this year, the bulk of those being ZenFone 2.

Moto G Google Play Edition Receiving Android 5.1 Lollipop Now

Android 5.0 Lollipop is now making its presence felt on a lot of devices and is continuing to spread its wings. For handsets a little tighter to Google's influence the march is already on to get Android 5.1, with the build already landing on some Nexus device, which are Google's own products of course. It now seems as though the Motorola Moto G Google Play Edition is next in line, with the handset now receiving an OTA update to Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Sony Lowers Sales Estimates but Stays Ambitious

Sony has had to contend with declining smartphone sales, continued money losing, and even claims that the company is ready to sell off its Xperia division. However, Sony has vehemently denied that it will offload its smartphone division and in fact the company is setting ambitious targets for this year, which is not a bad thing considering the Japanese giant makes good devices that look good and are well spec'd.

Sony Confirms Android 5.0 Lollipop for Xperia Z

Sony has been slow getting Android 5.0 Lollipop to its devices, but the company has announced the update for the Xperia Z3 and Zperia Z2 range recently. The Japanese giant also revealed that the Xperia C3 and Xperia T2 Ultra are also in line for the upgrade, but what about the older Xperia Z? At two years old, the former flagship is aging for sure, but Sony confirmed today that the device will indeed be getting a lick of the Lollipop in the near future.

AT&T HTC One M7 getting Android Lollipop Now

AT&T's version of the HTC One M7 has received technical approval yesterday and is ready to be dealt Android 5.0 Lollipop. That?s the news according to HTC's Vice President of Product Management, Mo Versi, who says that the roll out of the upgrade will start on today. He also dished on when the newer HTC One M8 will be getting Lollipopped, April 8th.

Huawei P8 Passes TENNA, Launching April 15

We have heard plenty about Huawei's next flagship the P8, a sequel to the Ascend P7 with the company opting to drop the Ascend branding. The company has now announced that the handset will be announced on April 15th at a special event in London. Huawei said that it would start selling smartphones in the United States officially this year, so could the P8 be the first flagship widely available from the company in the U.S.?

LG Announcing G4 Flagship April 28th

It seems as though we are nearing the launch of the LG G4 as the company has sent out invitations for a media event that will be held on April 28. The Initiation carries the "Save the Date" tagline and LG invites us all to "See The Great, Feel The Great". The event will be held simultaneously in New York, London, Paris, Seoul, Singapore, and Istanbul, which will make it April 29th in the final three nations.

LG's G4 has passed through benchmarking software and surprised us; now it is the turn of Sony's next flagship, but the Xperia Z4 is exactly what we expected. The handset made its way through GFXBench's suite as the Sony E6553. While that is not the Xperia Z4 by name, the listed specs certainly point to this handset being the upcoming flagship.
