Android App Adware is More Common than you thought

Android is known as being more vulnerable than other operating systems, or at least that's the perception. Whether that's fair or not is a good debate to have (especially in the wake of Apple's own iOS scandals of late), but it is clear that Google's OS is open to certain dangers. Unwanted intrusions on data is one of the biggest problems facing Android, but it seems the situation is direr than thought originally.

Qualcomm Press Release: Microsoft Working on Flagship

With all the debate surrounding the Snapdragon 810, Qualcomm decided to talk up its newest flagship chip with a press release. The 810 has been subject to controversy because the chipset overheating, apparently prompting Samsung to ditch the chip for its Galaxy S6. Now The company has sent out a press release that gives props to the company?s latest processor and even drops some hints as to which smartphones will be rocking it this year.

A Chinese reports released today claims that Lenovo is readying a new smartphone, the Vibe Z3 Pro. Of course, in the handset market, Pro in a name means this is a bells and whistles version of the normal Vibe Z3. With that being the case, the Vibe Z3 Pro is packed with market leading specs and will be the latest flagship from the Chinese company.

High End HTC Leaks

All talk of HTC so far this year has been about the company's upcoming HTC One M9 flagship. However, the Taiwanese giant had a solid 2014 off the back of other handsets too, namely the Desire range. HTC is already working on more models in the extensive series that covers numerous price points, and the newest device is a Desire handset with the code-name A55.

The Oppo R5 is a barnstorming smartphone. It's not perfect by any means, but the sheer quality packed into is svelte 4.85mm thin frame (now the second thinnest smartphone) is an engineering feat on the part of the Chinese company. Oppo is so confident about this handset that it will be shipping around the world and will not just be in China.

iPad Mini 4 Specs and Leaked Image

Right from the start you can color us sceptical about the following news, but it seems someone on Chinese social network Weibo has leaked the specs and even an image of the upcoming iPad Air Pro. Apple's oft rumored large version of its all-conquering iPad is thought to be nearing the end of development for a launch sometime this year and these are apparently the specs.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Getting Android 5.0 Lollipop

Samsung's Android 5.0 Lollipop program is now up and running it seems, and it is apparent that the company is rolling out in Russia. Earlier in the week the company started sending out Lollipop to its Galaxy Note 3 phablet from 2013, and now Samsung?s other 2013 flagship, the Galaxy S4, is also getting a lick of the Android Lollipop.

HTC Says Android 5.0 Lollipop May Be Late for Some One M8 Variants

HTC promised that it would update its HTC One M8 and One M7 flagships would be getting Android 5.0 Lollipop within three months of the software's release. That three month windows ends on February 1 and just like last year it seems that HTC will miss the deadline, at least partially.

LG's G3 flagship smartphone has already received Android 5.0 Lollipop, at least the international variant, but another LG high end device is also getting the latest and greatest build of Google's platform. That handset is the G Pro 2, the phablet flagship that rolled out at the Mobile World Conference in 2013, it will also be the last of the G Pro range.

LG G4 to have 3K Screen with 600ppi

LG was at the forefront of the screen revolution that saw 1080p relinquish its crown to 2K Quad HD panels last year. The company's G3 flagship was the first with Quad HD resolution and has been followed by numerous flagships since. However, while 1080p Full HD stood atop the screen pile for some time, Quad HD's reign could be short lived, and before the resolution really took off.
