Apple Makes Most Revenue from LTE Devices

Apple's hold on the smartphone market is big across the board, but in terms of sheer numbers Cupertino usually loses out to Samsung. Not in the LTE side of things though as Apple once again topped data for raking in the most revenue for LTE enabled devices. In fact, in almost every aspect of smartphones and tablets, when it comes to generating income, Apple bests them all, even if Samsung dominates sales charts.

If you want to get top of the class specs, a solid and robust design, and other flagship goodies you have to lay down hundreds of dollars, or at least commit to a long term service contract. Not so in China though, where handsets that look good and are positively overflowing with up to date hardware can cost just a couple of greenbacks. Apple was once dead against large screen phones, but with the iPhone 6 Plus the company climbed down from its pretty high horse. Cupertino's 5.5-inch device entered the phablet market very late, an area of the smartphone world dominated by Android devices, especially those made by Samsung, the Galaxy Note series. However, Apple can feel pretty jolly about the result as the iPhone 6 Plus has swept all before it, including Samsung's fantastic Galaxy Note 3 and Note 4.

You may (or may not) be getting your OnePlus One now, but the device is actually aging in terms of flagship longevity. The affordable high spec'd flagship botherer is slowly slipping behind in terms of specs, even if it is an amazing bargain today as it was when it was announced a year ago. The Uncarrier is not finished though as it has a deal that is running through the whole of the Holiday Season to the end of the year.
