Samsung has announced its fourth quarter financial results and the company is thriving overall, although the Samsung Mobile Division continues to lose sales. However, the company confounded the general trend in the tablet market by seeing an increase in unit sales.

Apple and VR, is there another defining product in the tech beast?

We think of Apple like this. It is not the innovative company some would have you believe, instead Apple enters an existing but nascent market and makes defining products within it. That's pretty admirable in itself, think how the iPod, iPhone, and iPad impacted their respective markets and you get the picture. Apple is now looking to do the same with virtual reality.

Innovative and Attractive Moto Smartphones on the Way

You may remember that it was announced recently that Motorola is no longer Motorola and is now Moto, according to Lenovo, which bought Motorola two years ago. A mouthful indeed, but the crux is, Motorola still exists, but phone branding will now be designated to Moto, and Lenovo is now promising some exciting new smartphones for the U.S. market this year.

HTC is doing an excellent job at keeping the One M10 smartphone flagship under wraps, considering the leak based industry that is mobile. The company's upcoming device could be an all or nothing handset that aims to put the Taiwan giant back near the top, but more importantly for the consumer the M10 will hopefully see HTC return to its innovative best.

The Sprint variant of the HTC One M8 will be receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow today according to Mo Versi, the VP of product management at HTC and the guy who always drops this kind of news. He says the technical details have been approved for the HTC One M8 and the special Harmon Kardon edition of the handset on Sprint.

We liked last year's Sony Xperia C5 Ultra, it was a solid mid-range device with a huge 6-inch screen, a slick near bezel-less design, and a good camera configuration. Inevitably there is going to be a 2016 refresh of the handset, the Xperia C6, and the first render of the smartphone has apparently leaked.

BlackBerry Exec: "Only Android as a Platform"

We don't need much proof that BlackBerry is starting to throw its lot in with Android, after-all the company released the Priv flagship smartphone rocking Google's mobile platform late last year. It is becoming increasingly likely that the Canadian company will stop making hardware for its own BB10 operating system, and now a BlackBerry exec has pointed once more to the company adopting Android full time.

Is the wait between the Xiaomi Mi 4 and the upcoming Mi 5 the longest we have had to wait for a flagship update from a major brand?
